New Delhi. Investigation into the car bomb attacks near Red Fort in Delhi has revealed that the mastermind of the conspiracy, Dr. Omar Un Nabi, was trying to recruit another suicide bomber. However, he could not succeed in this as his target, Yasir Ahmed Dar of Shopian, had backed out from becoming the fidayeen citing the need to help his family during the apple growing season. Officials said on Sunday that Dar was the possible second suicide bomber but his retreat foiled Dr Omar’s plan.

Yasir Ahmed Dar was arrested

Srinagar Police and NIA have exposed a terrorist module being run by Nabi. Investigation has revealed that Dr. Nabi himself had taken a car filled with explosives near the Red Fort on November 10, in the blast of which more than 12 people lost their lives. Dr. Nabi’s strategies have been revealed in the interrogation of the arrested suspects. On the basis of this information, NIA had arrested Yasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Shopian.
Yasir was prepared to become a fidayeen

According to the investigating officers, Dr. Umar un Nabi had prepared Yasir Ahmed Dar to become a fidayeen i.e. suicide bomber but he backed out in August last year. He used home repairs and apple season as an excuse to change his mind at the last minute. Investigation has revealed that Dar was in contact with Nabi since the year 2023. He had been completely radicalized through Dr. Omar.
