BJP can make big promises on the lines of Laadli scheme to woo women voters in West Bengal. In the resolution letter of the assembly elections, the party can announce a cash payment of Rs 2500 every month to every woman voter of Bengal. A similar promise had worked wonders in Bihar elections and the BJP-JDU alliance was successful in saving the government with a huge majority. The party will try to gain an edge by presenting a similar model in Bengal also. Apart from this, it can announce making one lakh women voters of West Bengal as Lakhpati Didi, connecting Drone Didi with employment and providing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana facility to poor women. Bharatiya Janata Party is currently taking suggestions from voters in West Bengal to prepare the election manifesto. At the end of February, the party can present its resolution letter before the public. There is a possibility of making such big promises in this resolution letter which can help in strengthening the BJP on the electoral board of the state. Women voters have emerged as a special supporting section of BJP. In the Bihar Assembly elections, the NDA alliance has won the maximum number of seats in those seats where the voting percentage of women voters was high. Similarly, in the assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat, women voters voted for BJP in large numbers. This trend continued in the 2014, 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections also. This is the reason why the impact of schemes with special inclination towards women is seen in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government.
Mamta also played a bet
Mamata Banerjee has been very popular among women in West Bengal. The votes of women voters in the state have been going to Trinamool Congress. Mamata Banerjee has also announced special schemes to woo women voters. In the state budget presented on February 5, he has increased the financial assistance given to women. The financial assistance provided to women under Laxmi Bhandar Scheme has been increased by ₹ 500 per month. Apart from this, the financial assistance provided to women belonging to general category, SC, ST category has also been increased by ₹ 500 per month. The government has also increased the salary given to Asha women. Through these schemes, the West Bengal government will provide financial assistance to about 2.5 crore women. Trinamool Congress will also release its election manifesto in the coming time. It is believed that taking lessons from Bihar elections, Mamata Banerjee may also try to play a big bet to save this vote bank of hers.
‘NDA will win the elections’
BJP leader SN Singh told Amar Ujala that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has long been established as a credible leader in the matter of welfare of women all over the world, whereas the people of West Bengal have seen that the Mamata Banerjee government has been trying to win elections only by appeasement. This time also in the budget he has focused on appeasement instead of development. Now, no matter what big promises they make in the assembly elections, Mamata Didi will not be able to win the elections because the people of West Bengal have understood that Trinamool Congress being in power only means bribery and corruption. He said that the people of West Bengal now want a transparent, clean and working government of the people of BJP and NDA. He said that this time NDA will win the West Bengal elections with an overwhelming majority and the people will get freedom from the misrule of Mamata Banerjee.
