Hours after announcing the commencement of Vande Bharat Express service from Srinagar to Jammu from March 1, the Railway Board has put the decision on hold on Tuesday night. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Utshi Singhal said, due to unavoidable circumstances, the extension of Vande Bharat train from March 1 has been postponed by the Railway Board. Expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers, Railways said, a new time table will be released soon. The trial of semi-high speed train was conducted between Jammu and Katra on Tuesday itself. The railway administration had also completed preparations to run the train. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Adhik Singhal had also released the time table of Vande Bharat. According to sources, after receiving inputs from security agencies regarding the operation of the train, the extension notification was immediately withdrawn. Northern Railway officials told Amar Ujala, operations have been stopped due to technical reasons. Soon the time table for the route of Vande Bharat train from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar will be released. Preparations were being made for a long time to start the direct train service between Jammu and Srinagar. Vande Bharat Express was earlier running only between Katra and Srinagar. It was planned to extend it to Jammu so that passengers can get more convenient and faster travel. Through this train, the travel time between Jammu and Kashmir valley will be significantly reduced and the journey will be more easy and comfortable. Vande Bharat Express has modern facilities, better safety and comfortable seating. With high speed, passengers will get a comfortable and smooth travel experience. This train will prove to be extremely useful for local residents, students, businessmen and tourists.
