
Kandhamal. On Wednesday, 10 Naxalites surrendered before the police in Phulbani of Kandhamal district of Odisha. Those who surrendered include a state committee member of the Communist Party of India (M), a divisional committee member, two area committee members and six Maoist cadres.
According to media reports, the surrendered Naxalites include the names of Sonu Patam (alias Neetu), Santai Salaam, Lakshmi Madavi (alias Anupa), Sunil Telam, Manjula Punem, Rambati Ayam, Ganesh Kunjam, Sushila Doody, Sharir Kuhudam and Chodi Yodi. According to police officials, these Naxalites have decided to return to the mainstream after being influenced by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the government. The administration said that everyone will be given the benefits of the rehabilitation scheme as per rules and they will be helped in re-establishing themselves in the society.
