
Security forces have arrested five militants in separate operations in Manipur. Police said on Wednesday that all of them were associated with different organizations. According to police, three militants belonging to the People’s Liberation Army and one member of Prepak (Pro) were captured on Tuesday near Yangobung village near the Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district. Meanwhile, another member of Prepak was arrested from Thoubal Haokha Mamang area of Thoubal district. In a separate operation, arms and ammunition were also recovered from Nungai Hill in Imphal East district. The recovered items included one country-made rifle, 9 mm pistol, one hand grenade and five cartridges of .303 bore. The police is investigating the matter
Tamil Nadu: Government official murdered in parking dispute
A minor parking dispute took the life of a government official in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. On Sunday, the dispute that started after the bike parked in front of the house was hit by an SUV turned into a bloody conflict. It is alleged that DMK councilor Srinivasan’s son Aditya, in a fit of rage during the debate, assaulted Assistant Labor Welfare Inspector S. The car ran over Shivmurthy (53) and his family.

Police have registered a case of murder against Aditya and his two associates Hrithik and Harish. According to the police, initial investigation has not revealed any old rivalry. Woman kills 2-month-old son on suspicion of postpartum stress
A 21-year-old woman allegedly killed her two-month-old son in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, as she was fed up with the infant’s continuous crying. The child’s father, a migrant labourer, told police that he returned home around 11 am and found his wife burning their son. They realized that the child was already dead. According to a statement released by the police, in his complaint the man said that his wife killed the child because he was crying continuously. Police said that the child’s body was found with a cloth stuffed in its mouth and burn marks on the body. A case has been registered and investigation is underway to find out the exact circumstances of the murder. Officials suspect that the woman committed the crime under stress as she reportedly did not get any support after the birth of the child. The police officer said that the couple, natives of Madhya Pradesh, were living in the labor quarters built at the construction site. 50 companies of CAPFs will be deployed in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Administrative and security preparations have intensified with the sound of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026. The Home Ministry has allocated an initial 50 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to ensure free and fair polling in the state. Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik informed on Tuesday that this first batch of security forces will reach Tamil Nadu on March 10, 2026. These security forces will be deployed in various sensitive areas of the state for area dominance and confidence building measures among voters. All 234 seats in Tamil Nadu and the neighboring Union Territory of Puducherry are likely to go to polls in April. The Election Commission aims to maintain strong law and order during the electoral process through these additional security forces.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made serious allegations on the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam controversy in the Assembly on Tuesday, terming it an organized crime. The Chief Minister claimed that during the previous YSRCP government, more than 20 crore sacred laddus were made using 60 lakh kg of adulterated ghee. Citing forensic evidence, he said that this gang not only hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees, but also promoted corruption by changing the tender conditions. While presenting in the House, CM Naidu said that TTD spent Rs 234.51 crore on the purchase of adulterated ghee. Officials were bribed to suppress the investigation and the sanctity of the temple was compromised. The Chief Minister clarified that the present NDA government has started the work of purifying TTD and improving the quality of Prasadam. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also reiterated the point of giving strict punishment to the culprits.
Center approves five thousand houses for rehabilitation of displaced people in Manipur
The Central Government has approved the construction of five thousand houses for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Manipur affected by caste violence. These houses will be built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh in New Delhi on Monday evening. The state’s two deputy chief ministers, Nemcha Kipgen and Losi Dikho, also attended the meeting along with Khemchand. According to officials, during this period Chauhan approved the construction of these houses. Also assured all possible assistance to restore peace and normalcy in the state. The Manipur government had proposed the construction of these houses earlier this month. Meanwhile, the Rural Development Ministry has made special arrangements to collect details of eligible affected families. Under this, a special window of Awas + 2024 family survey has been approved.
