Bangladesh Cricket Board: Bangladesh cricket is currently going through the worst phase in its history. On one hand, there has been a decline in performance on the field, while on the other hand, the conflict with BCCI and ICC at the administrative level has put the board on the verge of bankruptcy. According to the latest reports, many big sponsors have terminated their contracts with Bangladeshi players, due to which the players have suffered a loss of crores of rupees.

SG pulled out
The world famous Indian cricket bat and kit company SG has put ‘brake’ on its business relations with Bangladeshi players. The company has put the contract renewal of Bangladesh players on ‘hold’. This move of the company will affect many players including captain Liton Das.

SG has made it clear that at present they are waiting for the ‘right time’ and will not make any new agreement. This simply means that on a big stage like the World Cup, players will not only lose out on brand endorsement money, but they may also have to struggle for high-quality kits.

Trouble started with Mustafizur controversy
This whole controversy started when BCCI directed IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to release fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman midway through the series. In response to this, BCB, on the pretext of security reasons, threatened to boycott the World Cup matches and shift the venue, which is now costing them heavily.
